How TikTok builds community for LGBTQIA+ young people

Does social media lift you up or drag you down? Rigel is researching its power to bring young people together and be a force for good. At The Kids Research Institute of Australia, Rigel is currently researching trauma-informed care and suicide prevention for vulnerable populations. They began their research career during their Master of Public Health, where they completed their dissertation in LGBTQA+ suicide prevention, followed by a research practicum into the usage of TikTok by LGBTQA+ users.
