Rob Lines

Licensee & Head of Curation

As the TED Licensee, TEDxKings Park allows him to combine his fascination with science and current affairs with his expertise in theatre and public speaking. It’s a privilege to volunteer with an incredible team of people who, like him, believe in the power of ideas to change the world; and it’s a joy to meet and work with the talented and insightful speakers who share their talents so generously.

He has been involved in the TEDx movement since 2012, having curated over a hundred speakers at events in Perth Concert Hall, Perth Observatory, the State Theatre Centre, the Supreme Court of WA and even the Parliament of Western Australia.

After graduating in Computer Science and Physics, Rob has worked for many years in theatre and cinema management in the UK and in Australia. He is currently manager of the University of Western Australia’s public venues, including the Octagon Theatre, Winthrop Hall and the Somerville Auditorium.

In his ever-dwindling remaining spare time, Rob sings with Perth Pride Choir, is a Peer Assessor for the Australia Council  and is a Judge for Creative Edge, (the young people’s creative challenge program).
